The Astral Circus

Interactive, exciting shows for all ages in a
stripey little big top.

The Magic Lantern

This is a bespoke shadow puppetry and performance space that offers both shadow
and storytelling performances that can be scheduled throughout the day and even
more perfect, to gather an audience for a beautiful evening presentation. Alongside
this The Magic Lantern offers shadow, story and song making workshops,
participants can drop in right through the festival and prepare their own bespoke
pieces of work for performance. This space is animated by puppeteer Jo Douglas
and supported by the other artists

Ian Douglas - Storyteller

Ian Douglas is a renowned raconteur of stories and has been plying his trade at festivals large and small for over twenty-seven years. Appearing with his beautiful pedal powered bow top caravan ‘Vera’, Ian has a head bursting with traditional tales perfect for any occasion. Ian can be scheduled to do set performances throughout the festival and can also take his work walkabout to engage with the wider festival audience.

Gary ‘Gacko’ Bridgens

Gacko is the Royal Troubadour of Piel Island. Proudly promenading with Dolly, his peripatetic perambulator of performance and ever ready to unload his curious cargo of songs, stories and routines, this wandering vagabond showman explores the nooks and crannies of your festival. Gacko can perform both static shows and walkabout.

Alfie Bridgens - Uke can do it

The Ukulele is the fastest selling instrument on the planet. And young Alfie is one of
the finest young players in the land. Of Britain’s Got Talent Fame, Alfie offers Uke
Can Do It, a fun, accessible and easy way to explore music for participants of
almost any age and ability, a great addition to any family festivals which will have
participants thrashing and dancing along whilst performing with this cheeky little
instrument. Alfie can deliver multiple sessions for up to 40 people at a time
throughout the day

Gift of the Gab

The Gift of the Gab is a raucous performance of stories and songs played out by
two of the finest showmen in the land, with moments like the legendary ‘Camel in
the Tent’ and “Little Red Riding Hood’ set to Southside Chicago Gangster rap, this
show is not to be missed. There are a number of versions of The Gift of the Gab, so
it can be programmed throughout the weekend
