Camping is the BEST way to experience the full festival vibe! What’s not to love about a few evenings spent under the stars, waking up to the refreshing sea air, and ready to tackle another day of festival fun?
So, for all you festival campers, here are some ‘need to know’ things about our campsite – we will update this page with new information as it arises, so remember to check back!
Our temporary campsite is set up on farm land for the purpose of the festival.
There is an area for tents, one for live-in vehicles, and a family camping area, as well as an area close to the road to enable wheelchair users easier access to the festival site.
There are toilets available at the campsite, though be aware of ‘rush hour’ times! Needless to say, if you’re in a campervan, please use your own facilities if you can.
Staying hydrated is vital, and there will be water available on-site to keep you refreshed.
Right next door, there’s a tearoom which will be open for the festival. (We’ll have some more news on menu and opening times soon!) And don’t worry about packing a full kitchen – between the many food traders on site and the tearoom, you can grab a tasty bite whenever hunger strikes.
We have a tent stationed at the campsite which is open and manned with our lovely volunteers, 24/7 throughout the festival.
Here, you’ll find sofas, hot drinks and biscuits, whether you’re feeling a little worse for wear, or just need someone to talk to.
Feel free to pop in and say hi on your way to your pitch – there’s always some interesting banter going on …:)
Bute Tools, located right in the town centre, stocks some camping essentials, such as gas canisters and some cooking, and lighting equipment. You’ll also find many other useful local shops in town, alongside cafes, restaurants and bars.
If you realise you’ve left something behind, all is not lost! Simply hop on the bus and head back into town to stock up before rejoining the fun.
Butefest is a family-friendly festival, and safety is our top priority. Make sure your little buccaneers know exactly where your tent is located before you head off to explore the festival grounds. A fest-fam tip: personalise your tent with a flag or a bandanna – it’ll make it easier for your crew to find their way back after all the excitement!
