Just over 30-miles from Glasgow, ButeFest is one of the most easily accessible Island Festivals around! It couldn’t be much more straight forward to get here. Simply head to Wemyss Bay by car or train and then jump aboard the good ship CalMac for a short 35-min crossing to Rothesay. We’re then just a 15-min walk from the ferry terminal. We’ll also be running a limited shuttle bus service from the ferry terminal to the ButeFest site (more details coming soon!). Travelling from Dunoon/Cowal area? Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you! View the Colintraive-Rhubodach ferry timetable here!
Festival camping can be purchased for £5 p/person upon arrival to the ButeFest site and will be open from approx. 5pm on Thursday 28th July – 12pm on Monday 1st August. There will be general camping and family camping (so the wee ones can get some shut-eye!) within very easy walking distance to the main festival arena. There will also be ‘accessible’ camping for those that require it. Limited campervan spaces available. These should be reserved when purchasing tickets with only 1 x campervan required per vehicle, not per person. SPECIAL OFFER: Upon presentation of a valid Young Scot or NUS Card, camping will be offered free of charge!
Our festival toilets will be cleaned regularly throughout the festival, however, if you fancy a shower/use of a ‘proper toilet’, our friends at Rothesay Leisure Centre are here to help! Situated right next to the festival site, you will be able to use RLC’s facilities for the small price of only £2! Opening times are as follows:
Friday 7.30am until 8pm
Saturday 10am to 5pm
Sunday 10am to 3pm
